I am working on a project about growth mindset and the image came to me of a giant hanging plant that is on my porch. The above photo is not my porch, unfortunately, but the metaphor works for any potted plant. My flowering hanging basket on my porch has the potential to grow and bloom year round. The plastic green hanging container? It will always be a plastic green container. Which type of employee would you rather have working for you? Which type of co-worker would you prefer to work with on a project? The plastic container is still very worthwhile and doing its job, but the plant will be able to grow and adapt to the project and the project team. So how do we convince our team to be growth minded employees vs fixed? That is the project I am currently developing.
